I had spent the weekend in a sort of media blackout - you know, going outside and doing things and not turning on a TV or radio. It wasn't until Sunday night that I finally turned on the television. I think I had a frozen pizza in the oven. I flipped to MTV and thought, "oh, cool, they're playing Nirvana Unplugged,"

i thought it was 'sup?

It'll end with Yorick and Beth not only together but Beth'll be knocked up.

Whoever wrote this doesn't know the first thing about Kurt Vonnegut!

poison, poison, poison . . . tasty fish!

stock elements old formula
Not to say that this movie can't be as good as the reviewer says or that sticking to conventions necessarily = totally uninspired shit, but there is a scene in the trailer of one of our young lovers running through an airport. RUNNING THROUGH AN AIRPORT FER CHRISSAKES!

I haven't even read this review
but I wanted to take the opportunity to say how much I love the poster for this movie. It has a perfect pulp paperback kind of look to it. I'm not really a design geek but I think it's really striking and well done.

Did anyone else kind of think that Tarese was kind of not a great person?

Yay! Diversity!
I'm reminded of an old argument against racism (not that there needs to be much discussion, of course; it's really just a quip in argument form) that says why be racist when there are so many assholes of every color to hate?

no studying . . .

A sequel is good
but I'm really waiting for the video game adaptation. I think it's the big comeback Atari's been waiting for.

Hmmm, I can't imagine . . .
why there would be a sudden interest in the idea of The Suburbs around here. What could have possibly served to inspire such a piece?

ugh, *people are THE WAY they are*

What's going on with Don right now reminds me of the old pop-psychology line that "people are they are because it worked for them once." The sad thing is that what works for a person at one point in their life will not always and very few people are really able to change. Let's hope Don is one of them.

Apparently the real David Kellogg has quite an interest in nudes as well

This movie appears to be shit but I am glad to at least see that he hasn't chucked acting for selling phones.

I just assume Clooney is going to bang any woman he chooses to.

Well, it's true!

Ted "Theodore" Logan
Keanu Reeves has never ceased to be this character to me. In Parenthood, Ted had just moved to another town and started dating Martha Plimpton. In Speed, Ted had apparently decided to become a cop. In the Matrix, Ted becomes the messiah.

I don't normally have that problem, but Natalie Portman was just way too beautiful and glamorous to be Tobey Maguire's army wife in 'Brothers'. It was so distracting I think people in the movie were commenting on it.
