Play Time, Mon Oncle, and The Illusionist are masterpieces.  Tati made the sort of comedies you'd expect Kubrick to get into, favoring the balletic mayhem of the quotidian over easy pratfalls.  What a genius.

On the last chapter of Ulysses, which will finish up the Joyce bibliography for me.  This book is so flawless that it makes other books that I consider flat out masterpieces (Mason and Dixon, Infinite Jest) pale in comparison.

Once I was on the subway in NY and this old guy checked out the Trystero tattoo on my wrist and asked if it was a Lot 49 reference. I told him it was, and he said "don't go overboard."   To this day, I secretly pretend it was Pynchon himself.

Just laughed out loud at the fact The New York Post was printing Bill Doyle's allegations of insensitivity…the same newspaper whose headline about a person convicted of burning another human being alive was "BURN IN HELL."  Real classy Post.  Save some integrity for the rest of us.
