It's kind of a shame that the comics just became a series a cameos by the second volume, I think it was better in the first volume when they existed in their own little corner of the marvel universe and were only bothered by those equally obscure.

Sorry but I don't think I could ever allow for someone of that ethnic background to ever be the doctor…
Eh, the British tradition of screwing over foreign people carried well into the 20th century, though I guess we did stop doing it specifically to black people around half way through. Like any other country we have racism although specific racism towards black people is not as culturally engrained, and we don't have a…
To be fair the closest we can realistically get to simultaneous airings is next day, and I honestly can't think of any show that does this other than Game of Thrones. I think Breaking Bad is going up on Netflix the day after the American airings.
Yep, the British most certainly have never done anything bad towards anyone of African descent.
Question: Why do American audiences seem quite fixated on the idea of a black doctor when the UK has a larger Asian population? I mean I'm not saying this is a case of quotas but I've never really seen people naming Asian actors for the part. I mean I think that someone like Kayvan Novak or Adeel Akhtar would be good…
hehehehe…
@avclub-5b7e0a1ad5d9ac9ef3063b05f55b6d31:disqus The main one I'm thinking of is the camera one, which to be fair is a really major one since the crux of the whole story arc is based around it. Don't get me wrong I really love Transmet, especially the final issue.
Transmet, still one of my personal favourites even if it does kind of fall apart due to a few really major plotholes. Out of those, Animal Man. I like Invisibles but found that the final volume just descended into complete and utter incomprehensibility.

Firstly you can't really compare the classic series to the modern series in this regard, I'm sure they would have only considered a white actor for the part back then. Really it's more 3 for 3, which does add up if we're going the quota route like everyone seems to be. As for a female Doctor? I'm sure this won't go…

Lauren Socha will never work again
Because most British people are white, if they are casting colourblind then it is still likely that they will cast a white actor. The Doctor's sexuality is irrelevant. The Doctor could be a woman but personally I think the character works better as a man. This isn't about quotas, this is about finding the white person…

90% of the British population is white, of course they should consider actors of all ethnicities, but it's just a fact that there are more working white actors in this country than any other ethnic group.
