Have you seen Line of Duty? I thought it was pretty good although obviously trying to copy the Wire. The Christopher Eccleston thing on BBC1 is complete shit though.

Pretty funny, not sure how well it plays to a foreign audience but worth a look. I'd recommened "importing the DVD" because BBC America apparently censors stuff and cuts things down to meet a certain run time.

I thought it was pretty good, didn't spot major similarities to the Shield though I haven't seen much of that. I think the character's are a bit too two dimensional but the story is so far interesting and the social commentary aspect of it is also interesting. Line of Duty was pretty good, BBC are doing some good Shakespeare adaptations at the moment, BBC4 is importing some good foreign language stuff and new Thick of It is coming. Don't be so hard on the BBC.
