I've just finished IQ84, which was a much quicker read than I expected. I also recently finished Kim Newman's An English Ghost Story, which lost momentum for me around 2/3 of the way through, but I like it enough to pick up Anno Dracula.

I watch this movie over and over again every November. The house and neighborhood are so very like where my husband grew up that we're both overwhelmed with borrowed nostalgia when we watch it. And the cast is fantastic.
