I can't help remembering Jeff Ross' insult to Courtney love at the Pam Anderson roast "How is it possible that Kurt Cobain looks better than you?"

don't know if "the thick of it" would translate well. Seems a bit insider.
I think you'd like "In the Loop" which has a lot of transatlantic humour (or humor if you prefer)
Re: veep. I'm still missing Malcolm Tucker. We need someone on this show that everyone's afraid of that talks about lubricated horse cocks.
great to see Quendra with a Qu get a bit.
The cameo that made me laugh the hardest was Chang's speechless, vacant, mouth-breathing court bailiff. Way to steal a scene without saying a word!
I agree about the ending. Lots of hugging and learning. Ugh.
Unlike Oliver I don't think the writers "fixed" Howard, unless he meant it as a euphemism for castrated.
The great thing about the earlier seasons were the unredeemable natures of these outcasts. Now we're getting another billion seasons the writers are…
it is when all those things were hilarious.
I never saw "the honeymooners" but from all the parodies I've seen I imagine it to be nothing but a string of barely veiled threats of domestic violence. Can this really be the case?
I like girls. They have lumpy jumpers.
at least he's easy on the eye.
This was a very promising pilot, if not as savage as "The thick of it" it was still very funny.
In the UK we've never viewed our politicians as anything other than lying venal backstabbers.
The real godfather of political comedy in The UK is the classic BBC sitcom "Yes, Minister". Even at 30 years old its tales of…
Thank god someone finally said this!
I would add no make-up and bed-head.
I can't admit to moistness but it was kind of hypnotic. I know for a fact that Mr Offerman released a DVD of him making a canoe. I seriously considered buying it and watching it stoned.
I liked how Ken interpreted Pete's seemingly innocuous playing of the glorious choral symphony, in all its madness and passion, as a symptom of Pete's terminal ennui.
"the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking is also being commemorated with the re-release of the most popular version of the story"
Sorry , but I thought we'd all agreed that Mr Cameron's bloated epic was a giant turd.
I love it too. Fuck the spoilers we normally see on these things.
Also, great review Todd, very tidy.
As a fan of this show from the first season I fully sympathise with the hate. This show is a wheezing, blind , incontinent old sheepdog that needs to be taken out to the barn and fed to zombies.
D- I hated this pilot. The blonde one was unbelievably annoying.
God it seem like I've been waiting forever for this film to come out. I loved Greta Gerwig in "Greenburg" , now I have this film and the new Woody Allen to look forward to. Who says this planet is a depressing toilet with no future?
if you like what Mr Stillman has to say you might want to check out the terrific Criterion edition of "The last days of disco" it features a very illuminating commentary track with the director and Chloe Sevigny.
Dick Whitman should know better than to make light of suicide after his brother hanged himself.
I feel the same way, I've been burned so many times now by Woody Allen , I keep telling myself that I'll never see another one of his films but I can't resist that cast and I can't resist how lovely Rome will look.
