It's ahem. Happened to me before.

Why does Shane always seem hostile to Smithy? Smithy is the only recurring character (sans family) that lasts the whole series, right? I've always liked him. He seems very competent at what he does.

"Eatin' ain't cheatin!"

That's one of the lost things I just now picked up on.

I never thought of Little Carmine as outright stupid - just a complete distillation of malapropisms and a healthy dosage of pompousness. Because he's obviously done well for himself and he has to be a great businessman for Johnny Sack or Phil or anyone else in Brooklyn to have not killed him after Carmine, Sr., died.

Underrated when it comes to the beautiful scene that opens Season Three - Tony leaving the house, driving, singing along to Steely Dan - Dirty Work.

Yeah.

Yeah.

There we go.

Respect.

It's not the whale and it's definitely not the first two. I'm relatively certain it's not Brooks Brothers, either.

I'm re-watching both episodes later on this evening, but in the meantime, I have a question that's been on my mind for years.

I feel like after a certain point in S2 (perhaps after Co-Pilot, the stretch that ended that season), every moment of The Shield was "peak Shield" until the bloody end.

Nah I never got that at all. Sil, Patsy, and Bobby all share knowing glances of compassion with Tony the whole scene. It takes place a full day after Tony has killed his cousin, and with Phil finding out later that night that Tony B has been killed, I'm sure word reached around the campfire quickly.

Someone get this guy on The Shield, stat.

We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time.

Respect.
