Guess, I will have to be the one to put a word in for Fight Club, the book and movie, being on equal par.

Sundance Channel has really become the place for auteurs to have their marathon movies split into a mini-series.  Pretty sure Sundance also had Olivier Assayas' Carlos in full as opposed to the truncated one that made most US theaters.  Okay, that is just two, but you know what I mean.  Honestly, I wish this model was

I also just found out Sundance shows re-runs of Breaking Bad as I was DVRing this.

Well, we'll always have the Danish original we pretend to have seen and loved.

Kesey hated the adaptation of Cuckoo's Nest.  Been a while since I saw both but Nurse Ratched is one case of being quite a different character in the book than she was in the movie.  Also, I feel like the play adaptation which starred Kirk Douglas was probably more of the movie's template.

I agree with @avclub-79557cb93066f4470b8cee6e9110f757:disqus that Cheney is still an outlier.  It feels like being in the no-pressure, 'thank god we have Nixon out of our minds', Ford White House was among the worst possible ways for him to rise to prominence.   He later ran for elected office but I feel like the

He certainly seemed more affable and electable in 2000.  It was down with policy wonks who seemed toned deaf to the real world like Gore and to a certain extent Kerry.  Plus there was no real foreign policy threat at the time.  I remember all of the pre-9/11 talk when Bush got sworn in to be about whether or not his

It really hit a nadir when the CIA Memorial for VP Walden gets bombed and I am pretty certain there was no mention of the President being present at the memorial where a lot of people were instantly killed.   Since the guy was a former CIA director (although that is more of nod to George HW Bush, but even Tim Weiner's

Marnie's version of "Stronger" is indeed getting the shaft.  It is sort of like everything that happens during a John Waters movie until the 'big moment' which makes every other ridiculous thing beforehand seem smaller and not as outrageous.

This happened multiple times this episode when you think about it.

I figure its swan song season is the one thing to finally beat Modern Family.  The Emmys tend to do stuff like that.  Ideal trade off would be the Todd Haynes episode winning writing/directing and Dern gets leading actress while Jane Krakowski finally gets her long overdue Emmy and 30 Rock takes series.

I am now really interested in how Girls is reviewed and graded tonight than in any other episode before.  Wow.

This season was perfect and it is the only show I am completely okay with stealing Emmys from 30 Rock this year.

Before the How Was Your Exorcist? last week when JK alluded to it, I just knew. Plus her Twitter feed before she officially said it pretty much indicated a break-up ( and she apparently no longer follows Jack on twitter).

I liked Avery by herself she was supposed to be Jack's future ex-wife.  I thought she nailed the specific kind of 'money honey' CNBC analyst.

Yep.  Exhaustive plots of Hitler and zombies and of course, that finale.  Not to mention it really could have had an interesting finale to tie Nathan's situation (the viral video of his exit had him in Vegas while Alisha and Simon were pictured in Vegas that we never got to see, they could have had Jessica

The problem is that they are at the point of no return with Carrie and Brody, a pairing that I never bought romantically, unless they do something very shocking (like Brody using her).  But that is going to have to be the central focus of next season, right? It will be interesting to see if they can recover.

It is pretty shocking to go from that moment to now they two darn kids in love that we are supposed to hope work out, driving across the country from authorities.

Yes.   I actually really liked the latter seasons of L&O: Original Recipe after they found their footing post-Briscoe and Green but there were times the accent sounded either Transatlantic or a Jack McCoy impression.
