Yeah, i haven't seen Millennium Actress but after a brief review of the plot you are probably right in that it more directly engages in a criticism of film. I think i'll check that out.

Perfect Blue
I think Perfect Blue might have been a nice addition to this list. The interplay of fantasy versus reality, and fandom versus fanaticism, and how faded the line between each can become was masterfully presented in that flick.
