Scorpion does look surprisingly watchable. It combines those noble genres of "computers = magic" and "psychologists = magic" and "mentally challenged people are actually mystery solving geniuses". Plus it has the plucky waitress who translates and the gruff agent who keeps them all in line. It is every procedural

Maybe if she was using her real accent

Regarding Fishburne: how could you possibly say that Cowboy Curtis isn't a natural choice for comedy?

You're right, the kid would probably be more into go-go.

Do you remember the easter egg in X2 (or possibly X3, the memory ain't so good)? Mystique or someone is looking at a computer screen of known mutants and right on top is "Remy LeBeau". It was so exciting, like he could show up at any time and look absolutely ridiculous.

I didn't either until I saw the 21 Jump Street remake. Way funnier and better than expected.

Also, if the kid from DC doesn't call people bamas and talk about mumbo sauce and Fugazi, I'll be disappointed.

Do they sort of have the exact same show, only one's black, one's Mexican and one's Chinese? Different viewpoint characters, I guess, but… really?

Is Arrow that good? I have trouble believing that a CW show about the Green Arrow could really be that great. Is it worth getting into (and if so, how far along)?

I always imagined the characters breathing a heavy sigh before they talk about them. "Look out! Here come the…(foooofhhh)… muttations."

"Bland"? But it's got dads trying to look after babies! Think of all the hijinks they'll get up to! Everyone knows dads can't look after kids, that's mom stuff.

If we're talking raps, the Dean's freestyle apology rap has got to be the winner. "Barack Obama is SCARED OF ME, because I don't swallow knowledge and I spit it for free, let me clear my throat…"

Any word on Lady Whiskers?

Just read his Astonishing X-Men. She takes center-stage quite a bit and it's generally great.

Not all the time! In some Rob Liefield comics it's "toward other female superheroes who are doing it right back."

Me, I disagree, because I have absolutely no faith that DC could put out a decent Wonder Woman movie. Exhibit A: Man of Steel, exhibit B: that Adrian Palicki car crash that almost happened.

I'd have watched for "Gumption" and "Moxie" but no go.

Renesmee…

Are you going to be doing the Least Essential Albums list this year? I look forward to that one every year, and have done since I used to pick up paper copies back in Madison.
