BCS: Well? It could work.
BB: Well? Get back to work.

I'd like to see a graph charting Philip's dedication/disillusionment from season to season. People are complicated, and 'Americans' isn't aiming for a 'Breaking Bad' transformation. So we wouldn't expect a clear trend line. But the show has a habit of ending an episode with him seemingly grasping the horror of his job

With her fighting and darkroom skills, Paige could become a '90s-movie serial killer, if that's what she really wants.

As far as we know, what makes him a sanctimonious creep deserving a gruesome death? Because he's religious?

Kim knows Chuck's telling the truth about the 1261 switcheroo. When Chuck enumerates his brother's past sins and schemes, she can't dismiss the rageful rant as crazy talk. If Jimmy's victory is short-lived, it's that Kim is left with guilt and deeper questions about his character.

Dedicated to the late Jane Marzelli Smith, mother of the writer of this beautifully written episode.

I tracked down the recipe for Martha's snack.

That was my guess about the address, though you'd think a PI or web search could have tracked her down. One thing Chuck hasn't used against his brother is the Chicago sunroof incident. He could unearth the police complaint. A humiliating story like that could force someone to change his name.

I don't think he regrets killing Max. He's staring at the same pool in which he used to casually piss and into which Gus's partner bled. It reflects how dramatically power has shifted. Gus is rising, and Hector is in decline.

Obsessed with dotting i’s and crossing t’s…the ethical partner who becomes a reluctant accomplice…Kim and Skyler are very different people, but some parallels are emerging.

Chuck probably suspects she knew all along that Jimmy doctored the bank files. She's the one who benefited from the crime. So he has motive to try to derail her career. Whatever ultimately drives Jimmy and Kim apart, you gotta believe there's going to be a reunion in the post-BB Cinnabon universe. That chapter in his

It's a great show, but this was one of those episodes when you just want to see Elizabeth and Philip exposed and/or killed.

More ironic if she used her skills against her mom.

Those beers were well earned. He's not a charity.

It may be Veep's funniest episode, the sheer number of laughs overshadowing just a few over-the-top parts — including a couple Jonah lines — that strayed too far into spoof territory.

Philip rests his arm on Martha's shoulder, wipes her tears and melodically whispers into her ear, 'Cause you had a bad day. You're taking one down. You sing a sad song just to turn it around…'

Great job. If only Martha could see it and realize nothing can be so bad when you have the support of a loving family.

BCS is hugely entertaining. But I think the reason it rewards Breaking Bad fans with clever callbacks is to compensate for the predictability that comes with familiarity. It's not just knowing the general fates of major characters but also when to expect misdirection and sleight of hand. When Chuck creates Reynolds

In a way, Ernesto holds the brothers' fates. And he's probably their most objective observer.
