Pirates of Somalia: The Taking of the Maersk Alabama was rejected for some reason.

The show is already ignoring the actual procedure of the court (where judges are elected from the state’s five districts)

I could definitely see him as the Thing (he could be an Ethiopian Jew, since I think Ben Grimm being Jewish should be kept, as his creators were), but not as Colossus.

This project has been in development since the time the shuttle was in operation.  Too late to change it.

Apparently Captain Phillips did very well in its preview screenings on Saturday, which is a good sign for its prospects next weekend. I saw it then, and it does deserve to do well.

I read and enjoyed Massie's book on Catherine, though I didn't think it was as good as his biography of Peter the Great.

Haha, NERD!

I saw a new movie in theatres each night from Friday to Sunday.  2013 had been pretty weak for much of the year, but we're finally getting to the good stuff:

No he wasn't.  The episodes were rewritten after his death.  Filming hadn't started when he died (though it was only a few days away from doing so).

I loved it.  I completely disagree about Bullock, who I thought was in top form.  This is the best performance I've ever seen her give.

This show has an enormous number of LGBT characters, but on closer inspection its attitude toward most of them is really questionable.  Kurt was a groundbreaking character, but (particularly since Blaine showed up) the show has become uncomfortably fixated on the idea that his effeminacy is a major weakness, and

I think the main difference is that most of those things you list are not major goals.  Santana's ambition isn't to star into bad commercials for the rest of her life, and the show doesn't focus on them; Santana getting the commercial is there (a) to be a good joke and (b) to create a moment of annoyance for Rachel.
