Lord Talbot is pretty badass.

All British people named Dominic look alike.

One of the main takeaways from Euro-art-porn is that, even when it's not explicit like actual porn, it's far more erotic when the director and cinematographer have ideas about how to use the camera beyond "okay, we'll put the camera here and then switch it on".

The actors playing the Howling Commandos would probably be reasonably easy to get for a TV show.

Rocky II was released in 1979, a fitting prelude to the 1980s, where the training montage would be scientifically perfected.

Why does anyone do anything?

@avclub-f8f8c273f326be25421cc62737d24a9e:disqus:  It works on so many levels!

From a structural perspective, it was a bit off-formula to put the most obvious indicator first in the joke litany, instead of last.

The first 'clue' that Jake missed being a framed newspaper with the headline "NYPD Appoints Openly Gay Man As Captain" was probably my favourite joke of the night.

Kenneth Branagh's Henry V remains my all-time favourite film.

Henry VI, Part 1 has evil whore Joan of Arc.  That's so awesomely a characterization that would never be done now, for obvious reasons.

Hey, I specified it was irrelevant.

Tax credits, baby!

@avclub-e0b2ce3685c37ff452b211bd8b6b1b5c:disqus:  I had a similar idea.  Mine would be a comedy slightly akin to This Is The End about a bunch of unrepentant sinners desperate to prevent the Final Judgement.

Irrelevant nitpick:  New York state has very liberal laws on involuntary committal.  When Crane was suspected of a homicide, obviously, observation would be justified, but as soon as it became clear he couldn't have committed the crime, there wouldn't be any grounds for putting him in care against his will unless he

I was confused about how Crane could have been a suspect, but after John Cho was revealed to be evil I assume he must have framed him (Crane wouldn't have understood what was going on sufficiently to dispute him, and even if he had, he's "obviously" kind of a loon).

Yeah, pretty much.  These sorts of movies overwhelmingly hinge on the idea that evil could actually win, which the source material makes it very clear cannot happen.  Indeed, all the "stop the Apocalypse!" movies kind of ignore that the Apocalypse ends with Christ's ultimate victory over evil and the establishment of

Ichabod and Abbie could save themselves a lot of time and just call PETA in to defeat the Headless Horseman.

With a little help from the FBI team on The Following, as Edgar Allan Poe is tied into this somehow!
