I can't wait to hear the next conservative explanation for how The Butler is a box office disappointment.

I've already seen that.

My favourite Chaplin film is The Great Dictator.  Partially, I suspect, because he just goes fully into sound at that point, but also because it's such a powerful artistic statement, and a really fascinating historical curio — a movie that quite literally could only have been made exactly when it was.

What's the other 20%?

I much prefer Modern Times to City Lights.  I find it hard to get emotional over silent cinema, at the end of the day, though the craft is obvious.

Film:

The Sound of Music is so goddamn boring.  It just goes on and on, and so little happens.

He said:

Biden is an extremely capable politician who occasionally misspeaks (and quite a few of his "gaffes" are of the "saying the truth when you aren't supposed to" kind).  The media narrative that he's a bumbler is really not accurate.

One of the problems Clinton created for conservative messaging was that his "hillbilly" accent brought out their own classist/elitist behaviour, which came into conflict with their normal attack on the Democrats' presidential nominees as out-of-touch Ivory Tower liberals.  He couldn't be both "Bubba" and a sneering

Sharon's in the next movie.  She'll be back.  Probably as part of this story, since, as the review notes, there's no body.

I think it's a good movie, with great acting. The latter is the main draw.

Even with them softening the Tyrion/Sansa relationship because God forbid Tyrion be shown in an even slightly unflattering light, it's clear she doesn't want to be in King's Landing.

It's too bad that Branagh has never gotten to doing Macbeth as a film.  Good casting for this version, though.

There's no scholarly consensus on what the "sticking place" refers to.

U-S-A!  U-S-A!  U-S-A!

"Born This Way" is enormously derivative of Madonna's "Express Yourself" (including in the music video), at least as much as "Roar" resembles "Brave".

Since Perry and Gaga's fans seem constantly at each other's throats (particularly now with the dueling songs and albums), my two cents as someone who isn't a huge fan of either:  In theory, Gaga should be the one I like more, as she is generally trying to do something new (when she's not copying Madonna), but none of

I hope after Dexter somehow gets caught (possibly by walking into the middle of the station carrying a dead body and confessing, because I'm not sure what else would do the trick at this point), everybody gets fired for gross incompetence.

The Miami Metro makes Chief Wiggum look like Sherlock Holmes by comparison. He at least would have had Bart and Lisa solve the case for him by this point.
