I agree on that.  This is probably in great part because of the hair colour, but the most obvious real-world equivalent for Rayna that comes to my mind is Reba McEntire.  Or, given her suggested peak period, maybe Shania Twain.

I thought this episode clicked much better than the first two, overall, particularly in terms of giving definition to the supporting characters — though the resolution to Mindy's plot was pretty formulaic, and didn't really have much weight.
