I saw all of the nominees and I wholeheartedly agree with your picks (though I thought that The Master was better than Amour….but of course it wasn't nominated for Best Picture).

I wish we lived in a world where that might actually happen…
Predictions are fun but lets have a final Best of 2012 thread as well. I know most folks probably did this back in December but I'm sure that many of us who don't review things for a living did some catching up over the past two months (hell, Django, ZDT, and Amour hadn't even gotten real theatrical releases when the…
So, not this Blue Steel?
"Have you ever jacked in? Have you ever wire tripped?"
Cookie Monster's ideas intrigue me and I would like to subscribe to his newsletter.

Go back before its too late! 1Q84 is terrible…but by the time you reach page 600 or so you will feel like you have to finish it. Take it from one who knows (and yes I am a Murakami fan).
I don't re-read many books but Blood Meridian has definitely rewarded multiple visits. Every time I see it mentioned on these boards I want to pick it up again.
I just finished Battleborn by Claire Vaye Watkins, which was excellent, if consistently bleak (thanks AVClub). I am currently finishing up Hoberman's Film After Film and Iain Banks's Consider Phlebas. I'm looking forward to tackling Marvel Comics - The Untold Story soon.

Oh T-Dog. You
survived 22 episodes by keeping your head down and your mouth shut (with an
occasional ill-advised trip down a well thrown in) while the angsty white folks
around you dropped like flies. Then you
slipped. You dared question the word of
almighty Rick and a few short minutes later, a walker was taking a bite…

Overall, I thought this was a solid list. As many have acknowledged, consensus lists do tend to exclude some of the more divisive films of the decade. However, I was surprised by how many of my favorites didn't even show up on the orphans and outliers post. Fortunately, many of these have been mentioned by the…

I think it has a good shot at a Best Original Song nod…especially since Adele is involved.
