In my opinion, the lady that went to jury duty dressed in her Starfleet uniform would be just as inappropriately dressed as a guy in a Viking jersey.

I self-style myself as asocial because, like you said, I don't have a "F- all you people" attitude about the world.  I go to church, take my kid to his sporting events, etc but I really don't have a desire to go out and meet people.

I never read LOTR before the movies came out, but I did see the 2 animated movies as a teen. Before Fellowship came out spent days worth of time looking at the Encyclopedia of Arda. It was way more knowledge that I needed to know. but I lapped it all up.
