Those do sound awful, glad i missed them—especially because I am one of those people who rides a bike on the city streets for transportation, not one of those who drives to someplace beautiful to ride.

It's not improv so why judge it by the standards of improv? Improv in my limited experience is taught more as a formula, with formulaic rules. This show is more surreal and the ad-libs usually fit inside a well-scripted concept, except when they let a guest star like Kristen Wig riff "ironically" ala SNL.
Most of the earlier episodes satirized the gentrifiers, from rich parents obsessing over preschool politics to double income no children couples obsessing over restaurants, etc. & prentiousness/ingroupness. Check out the first season—it's gently poking fun at the privileged, "artistic" and creative types pretty…
The comic objectification of TopBun was delicious. Portlandia doesn't usually play with sex appeal, accept of course when Carrie is playing Carrie.
"Preaching to the choir" is fine when it reinforces support of justice equality, but not at the expense of writing off the Black church and/or Black folks in general. When Prop Hate passed her in Cali, so much media focussed on Black homophobia that the active financial & organizing role of the mostly white…
Yes.
Kate as Lindsay Graham was perfect. She got the gestures & timing, not just the appearance. Again as the child, she disappeared into the character & didn't overdo either one. Leslie Jones got to act, not just play her Signature angry Black Woman, and the air traffic controllers part of the sketch was brilliant!…
Yes, I ff her. Wish they would give her the sexy parts once in a while instead of using Cecily Strong so predictably as eye candy.
It is the nickname tho for Noah…..Bean.
Brilliant & prophetic review!
Every Christmas episode has been more satisfying than this! Why even start with a nod to caroling & antlers when it was just one more working of Dr. loses woman he's fond of who adores him—as if that hadn't been worked to death this season! With genocide as a tossed-off minor aside! Worse than a maudlin suffering at…
Doesn't Sherlock already know all about Morland and have a plan which letting Morland "help" him advances? The fun (for us) would be watching Joan detect herself what Morland is up to—sherlock would be (paternalistically?) trying to protect her by not sharing his plans/info).
Because they are forced to listen to what the malls choose to play?
I get it! Even when they are illegible the next day, it works.
Yes, but the aggregator labelled the production cheesy and focussed on Dolly's figure to characterize the show. Kind of like hate-watching without the watching.
This review is like a book report by someone who didn't read the book, blathering on about the book cover, the blurbs and how many copies were sold. Not a word about the scenery, the writing(pretty good & not at all predictable until the very end) or the acting.
…..unless it's the recently created ( 8 hours ago) word phonetically engineered from "enunciate" and "pronounce" to describe what so many British actors do when they try to do american accents.
Queen Latifah
How many "mild racists" do they need? And the younger one is not written or acted that funny—sort of a Jim Carey"type"/Jim Carrey lite. If there can only be a set number of featured workplace folks of color(with no featured representation of any of the many flavors found in the very specific SoCal setting, from…
Thanks. Are either of those free?(as opposed to "first month free if you sign up for x months")>
