I liked Dexter going for the cleaver. On the surface, that scene was just Hannah preparing an omelet, but as both characters know her weapon of choice is poison. Dexter was trusting Hannah by letting her prepare food for him, but by brandishing a big knife he was showing off his own weapon of choice, and maybe letting

So glad they included classics like Face/Off, Starship Troopers, and some wrestling documentary, and excluded trash like Silence of the Lambs, Heat, Before Sunrise, and The Usual Suspects…

I hate to say it, but I kind of feel that Community has already ended.

I have to admit, I started watching beach volleyball for the cheesecake, but stayed for the athletics. It's a fast paced and fun game. Of course, the costumes are more than a little embarrassing, and I was kind of happy that the cold weather is forcing some of them to cover up a bit.

I wouldn't call him likable in Swingers. He was a loudmouth, boorish, frat boy in that (e.g. the diner scene, for a start), which was just the start of a long career playing loudmouth, boorish, frat boys. The movie was still good, though, since he wasn't the protagonist and I think we were supposed to be exasperated

Is it just me, or do a startling number of podcasts seem to be just douchebag comedians trying to out-bro each other? Other than the usually-awesome The Bugle, I find so many of the "top" podcasts to be pretty tiresome.

It's usually a pretty great show, and it's wonderful that the AV Club is giving it the recognition it deserves. The mix of formats can throw me for a loop sometimes, but there's always a gem in there. I guess I'm shallow because I prefer it when it tries to be funny, though when they break away from that there can be

You know that awful fake British sitcom featured on Extras, "When the Whistle Blows"? That's what The IT Crowd feels like to me, representing the worst aspects of UK comedy.

I love the final exchange between Q and Picard, and the mysteries it promises:

Thanks for a great job, Zack! I was a big Trek geek when the show first aired so none of this was new to me, but after being away from TNG for several years it's great to read about it from a fresh perspective.

Happy…thanks…giving!

Me as well. Don't get me wrong, the second half of Season Five has some classic episodes, but it took a long time to get there. The show seemed to be flailing around in the first half.

Good article. I'm not sure that Revolutions can be redeemed, but I'm willing to give it another look.

Strangest thing about that Supertrain intro? Discovering that Donald Westlake - great mystery and thriller novelist, talented screenplay writer (The Grifters, etc) -  was a creator of that show. I have no idea what the writing was like on Supertrain (prediction: awful) but now I want to see it…

edit: never mind, meant to respond to comment above…

I figured it was that, the guy has had a long career! (Plus, I just wanted to give poor little Wild Palms a shout-out)
