Howard's mom is awful, and easily the most "CBS sitcommy" aspect of the show.

Don't forget: TWO 3-hour movies…
"Gun kata" has to be one of the more silly ideas put on screen. I appreciate that the director wanted to do something new with the action scenes, but having his characters standing around, waving their arms in all directions while shooting their guns didn't really work.
Everything I've heard up to this point has described the second movie as some kind of linking film, taking place between the events in the Hobbit and the trilogy.
Facebook is not a social networking site, any more than a mousetrap is a rodent cafeteria. It's primary purpose is the selling of private information about consumers to corporations for the purpose of advertising. Any social networking you experience while using it is entirely incidental.
The Trek movie we never got
For your consideration, a fake trailer of a mash-up of "Yesterday's Enterprise" with Generations to give us the feature film we never got…
The thing that turns me off about The Social Network is that everything I read about the real Zuckerberg is that he's just a complete sleazeball. A movie that romanticizes his rise to fame (even if it shows him being a "bad boy") is not something I'm eager to see.
So, does the "decidedly not 3d" in the article above mean the idea of a 3d conversion is now dead? Because the article that links to says that MGM still wanted to convert the film. I am not a big 3d fan, especially not when it is a post-filming conversion.
Scott Pilgrim was worth at least an A-. It was fun, funny, and displayed Edgar Wright's unique style throughout. It was like an episode of Spaced, except four times longer and with 100 times the budget.
@Eddie - I remember that episode, it was a good one. I remember Kira came off as rather unsympathetic - she absolutely refused to apologize for some of the horrible things she did, and gave us the tired "end justifies the means speech" - but that made it feel all the more realistic.
@meta godzilla - Did you watch the same DS9 I did? From the perspective of the Federation, and the audience, the nature of the prophets was 100% clear - they were advanced aliens, with knowledge of the future and the past, and that's all. There was never any doubt about that.
@ProleHole - I don't remember that episode, but I haven't seen 100% of Voyager, so that's no surprise. And while I was not a big Voyager fan, I will say this: if Enterprise did one thing well, it made Voyager look good… :)
Lots of people connected to Star Trek like to trumpet how progressive the shows supposedly were. First interracial kiss, first woman officer on a starship, etc. Sometimes they get a little full of themselves, and tend to ignore the ways the show could be more than a little reactionary. For example, the lack of a…
I wouldn't call VI great, merely good. It features some simply awful dialogue, and a middle act (Kirk at the ice planet, Spock plays Sherlock Holmes on the Enterprise) that drags terribly. Like most of the Trek films, it has its share of plot contrivances and plot holes.
I kind of like Generations. Unlike the other TNG movies (including the superior First Contact) it seems more in spirit with the TV show. Now, the fact that it feels like a TV two-parter with a slightly higher budget works against it, but I thought it has some great scenes, lots of good Picard moments, and an exciting…
I'm not sure how they will match up the characters in the book (which I agree was great) with the various characters from the POTC series. Actually, I doubt they will even try. More likely they will just be "inspired" by the book, have a few loose connections (like the hunt for the Fountain of Youth), and leave it at…
@The Information (and others)
I think it seems reasonable that they just waited for the sedative to wear off.
SPOILER Season Five
Wow, I've never seen someone be so damn proud of their ignorance on a subject, and so determined to keep digging.
