The effect of Norris' head first stretching off down the back of the table, and then sprouting spider legs is probably the best physical effect in any horror movie ever. And then Palmer and MacCready's reaction to that is just absolutely brilliant. "You've got to be fucking kidding me." So, so awesome.

I hear things out here.

Soon we will now. But, how soon is now?

Chavez is one of the best bands of all time and Ride the Fader is like a top five all-time record for me.

You know what else brings an aching smallness and stillness?

Human Centipede III (A New Hope) could maybe be Tom Six with his own ass stitched to his mouth, just rolling around, like down a series of ramps or a big hill

True story, I got bit by a centipede on the finger when I was cleaning out a bunch of leaves from the outside basement stairwell, and that shit hurt for days. I didn't even know they could bite, but they can, and it sucks

The calls were coming from inside the centipede

Let me say in advance that I like Steve Hyden's writing in general but I have to say I don't understand what this article is getting at. I wouldn't consider Wilco "classicist" at any period since maybe Being There, I wouldn't call their new album comfortable (that would be their last two records, and the first song

Just bought my tickets to Emerson Lake & Slayer

Split Personalities by 12Rods is one of my favorite records of all time. But I can't ever see them being popular. Overtly nasal total dork singer, six-minute songs, weird synth sounds on every track, totally impenetrable lyrics. Don't get me wrong I LOVE it, but it's not hard to see why they didn't get huge

I keep thinking it says Rapin' the Wind, which is very, very funny. I don't really have anything constructive to add but I guess it would have been nice to have more discussion about the actual songs and maybe why (or even why NOT) the songs themselves contributed to this album's #1-ness. I don't know. I'm drunk though
