I'm pretty sure they went to Broderick after a tabloid photo showed up of him taking his son trick or treating.  The son was wearing a Finn costume.

since the writers and artists are such huge fans of wes anderson, I figured they'd take a page out of his book and, if not change the status quo, overload the show with insignificant details about all of the characters and about their world.

I don't hate it, but it's not great.  I've watched a few episodes, usually while waiting for an AT or RS episode that will be on afterward.
