Apocalypse disco.
This delightfully edited gif of Em's visit to the booth was floating around Saturday, showing how he saw things:
Nah, Philadelphia Phillies beats the Houston Texans for dumbness. The Texans at least decided to go beyond their city for a team identity.
Two old men sitting on an old fashioned general store's porch talking about the "doomsday whistle" is the very definition of a Swartzwelder scene.
That sequence amazes me because it's an long cutaway gag that doesn't feature any regular characters, but its still funny as hell.
Being repetitive is Sims' job?
@avclub-73a4d70cada5371fee3780daa40261f7:disqus Nah, I think it was intentional. A gag for the pre-DVR days where the premise is you'd see Waldo in the first shot, think "Was that Waldo?" and then be unable to confirm it later.

The animation of Moe when he's making the barnyard animal sound is so beautifully grotesque. That certainly makes up for the one shot of "Yellow Apu."
DAD!
Yeah, I agree that the Thing is a separate beast entirely from TFAW, but I suspected it would be brought up eventually. Tricky things those not really remake.
Eh, it's kind of like how Bond films usually have a big action filled cold open with Bond on a mission that has nothing to do with the main plot of the film.

What the fuck was that?!
Remember, monkeys have been known to eat their young.
Just to clarifying, are we grabbing the vault in which Scottrick keeps his fries, or are we grabbing Fourvel's brother?
Are we're considering John Carpenter's The Thing a remake? That definitely has a superior cast to The Thing From Another World.
