With this week's events - including Scaramucci's foul-mouthed tirade, and the late-night "skinny" healthcare vote - I couldn't help but reminisce over CBS's BrainDead from last summer.

“How about ‘for f—’s sake’?” he shoots back. “Can I say that?”
“You can say that before you can say ‘God,’ ” she dryly replies.

When he was giving his speech after the vote, I kept imagining him reciting lines (in that same dreary manner) as the Mock Turtle in a theatre production of Alice in Wonderland.

UPDATE: Samuel L. Jackson's role has now been recast, with Colin Salmon portraying the old man. Studio execs said they wanted to go in "a more Shakespearian direction". Plus he's cheaper.

Well, they have a child together - so I guess they did get it together at least once …

So, um, now this is ending …

Hey apples,

Songs from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Wait - Danny Glover, Tessa Thompson (Westworld), Lakeith Stanfield (Get Out), Omari Hardwick (Power) and Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine Nine) all in one film together?

"This is for you Mom! I'm so ANGRY with you right now!"

"good strong hug"

I think the woman messaging the ex-cop needs to be careful. Yes, in theory it would be great if she could tell him she's going to stop messaging him because of his police brutality - but practically, what's that going to achieve? Will he change his ways because she rejected him?

♫ He loves his step-daughter, but not in a creepy way ♫

Thanks - I guess you and @Brienne are most likely right that he's just speaking in hyperbole. But it's Dan Savage - you can't blame me for not being sure if he's kidding or dead serious - he's given more outlandish scenarios in earnestness!

Urgh, don't be a dick. I'm not new to his column.

"If you don’t want your daughters having a fuck-you-mom threesome with this guy before the summer is over …"

Really wasn't expecting Issa's boss's nugget of wisdom to be "You can do it, put your back into it"
(That seemed to be Lawrence's mantra in this episode!)

There's a great interview with Issa Rae on The Breakfast Club from last week.

LOVED loved loved this season premiere!
