It makes plenty of sense. Rather than suppress his anger, he has accepted it and what it brings. This allows him to control the Hulk (change at will, see himself as part of a team) most of the time.

They're already fucked but good — that much is obvious from how poorly organized their raid is. Killing someone wouldn't make much of a difference. Oh well, different strokes. I didn't much like Assassination of Jesse James either (felt like images came first, then something approaching a screenplay organized around…

I didn't have a problem with lack of subtlety, at least not in many circumstances, but the film did so little with the political subtext. It felt more like an afterthought that Dominik wasn't able to fully incorporate into the film. It's there, but so what? So we can get a big showy speech by Pitt, then BOOM! credits.

If we're calling the opening of Bernie (a fine film but not for that opening) and the heist in Killing Them Softly (barely better than average when Gandolfini's bitter hitman is not on-screen) "masterful," then our standards for "masterful" have fallen badly.

The purge scene is stupid and the best example of why Cabin in the Woods is perhaps the most overrated film of the year (after Lincoln). The film takes pains to explain every horror cliche as the efforts of a shadowy group, but doesn't give us a reason for said shadowy organization to have a purge button/self-destruct…

I also thought it was ridiculous that the car chase happened at all. Apparently the Revolutionary Guard can make a long distance phone call to Los Angeles but not to the fucking airport control tower.

Especially the way it suddenly becomes night, or how Batman managed to fly that gigantic winged tank into town with no one noticing.

This is a uniquely vapid statement. I refuse to read anything else you comment on.

I'd rather be with Leslie Mann… but I just have this aversion for women whose eyes betray that they have no souls.

Depends on when they bought it. The housing market in L.A. wasn't that horrible as late as the 1990s. Their oldest child was 4 or 5 in 2003, so she was born in the latter half of the decade… let's figure Mann and Rudd were married for three years before that… his career is fairly well established by 2003, so he must…
