Pan's Labyrinth is full of dull spots; Devil's Backbone is a superior film in every way.

Why not Jodorowsky? Because he makes goddamned awful films, that's why. It's like he decided to use Jung's Man and His Symbols to interpret his navel and then share the results with all of us.

Blazing Saddles has so many fart jokes that, methinks, people overlook how subversive it really is. It's not just lampooning the Western genre, it's lampooning the entire Manifest Destiny narrative.

I've never understood why people continue to consider La Regle a watchable film.

You get points for putting Kubrick at the top, but your overall list fails for the insane decision to put Apocalypse Now below a film with Keanu Reeves. And La Dolce Vita is one of the three greatest films ever made.

Three times, actually: the motorcycle chase, the fight with Bane and the climax.

@avclub-7159270de715afc57b3c2be1fff3947e:disqus , I don't need everything that happens off-screen to happen on-screen. I need the important things to happen on-screen, or at least the things that make the plot work. Conceptually, yes, having Bane patrolling in Batman's gear is a nice touch, and your answer is
