Neon Bible has always been Arcade Fire's best album. Maybe a few better songs on Funeral, but it feels like more passion went into the second album. Intervention still gives me goosebumps.

When I see someone like Sherri passing up even the pretty easy questions, I tend to assume they're just not good enough on the buzzer. Gotta give people the benefit of the doubt.
It took me about three minutes to get that. Looked it up and I was right, but no way I could have done that in 30 seconds, especially already knowing the FJ.
Actually, I think I WOULD UNDERSTAAAND!!!!!
Almost done with Absalom, Absalom! Hard to find time to read it, since the chapters can get real long with no clean breaks to stop at, so I have to set aside a big block of time to make progress. Really picking up towards the end though.
The Cure — The Top
I didn't listen to the Pill album, and I see it barely made your top 50. I really like post-punk stuff, and I tried their EP last year and liked it at first, but there were diminishing returns for me when I went back to it. Is it more or less the same as the EP or has there been some growth in their sound?
On New Year's I had saved a bottle of The Bruery's Poterie. It is an English Old Ale that is 16.8%. It was well-reviewed online, but I found that the ABV was pretty much all I tasted. It got me drunk, but I was pretty disappointed overall.
Yeah, there's absolutely nothing conservative about repealing the ACA except that Obama passed it. Every independent analysis so far has concluded that repealing ACA will add to the deficit and cause insurance premiums to rise — but at least fewer people will have insurance!
Being sick is a good opportunity to watch those movies you otherwise wouldn't have the time or patience for. There is very little else good about being sick. Get well soon!
I think "Jimmy Buffett-style" is too harsh, and three of nine tracks doesn't quite qualify as half the album… but there's no question "Little Thing Called Love", "Hold On To Your Love", and "Like An Inca" are B- level Neil Young. Not awful, but not his best.
I think this fails the "reasonable person" test. No reasonable person would assume "Reed" and "Snacky" referred to the Red or Snake Rivers, respectively, unless MAYBE if you had a very strange accent… but if you say Kai-yuh-ho-ga, no reasonable person would assume that you were talking about any other river than the…
Idea: Sketch where Mike Pence runs to the emergency room after spilling gender fluid on his pants.
Well I say there is a high road, and if you disagree with me I'll fuck your mother in front of you!
I liked that bit with the irreverence pretty well.
Are you saying Jim Gilmore is going to win an Oscar?
I embarrassingly said "the beasts of war" because the category said beastly and I was tired. You were at least making a sly Black Sabbath reference.
I think his whole term will be Republicans trying to undo things Obama did with no real sense of what to do instead and no real solid reason for undoing them other than "because Obama did it" for as long as he has a majority on the Hill.
They just had a Steel Magnolias question earlier this week. What an odd piece of pop culture to reference with relative frequency.
I'm pretty sore they didn't continue with the 80's category, but considering they don't know "Beauty and the Beat", it was probably to their benefit that they didn't.
