I thought it was just me! Someone (Clancy Brown in an interview?) once alluded to filming the scene in which Iris discovers Justin's tattoos, and I'd promise away my firstborn for that deleted scene.
Since they made sure to mention at least twice in that episode that the flash could awaken Alpha abilities, I'm sure that's where they were going with Rosen. He can't be dead, he just can't. :(
We actually did play this song at my mom's memorial service last year, at the bequest of her sister (the Elton John fan of ~40 years). It fit in pretty well with the Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro, and Simon & Garfunkle my mom had loved.
The Futon Critic posted a comment from Gail Berman saying we should hear news about whether it's been renewed or cancelled this week….crossing all fingers…..
Uh, there are plenty of actresses who compliment their costumers, or who say things like "Once I put on the clothes, I felt at home with the character." Read interviews with the women who work on Mad Men and you'll see a ton of praise for Janie Bryant, and that's just one example.

Stan is becoming my favorite character, period. I love what he brings to the scenes he's in.
I thought this was a great moment, too. It also seemed to me that he kissed her in the same manner that Tommy Dolan kissed her (brief peck on the corner of her mouth), which seemed intentional, like he had known what she had done the night before and was slyly putting her in her place.
Same — I think Ben Hawkins is too passive of a character for too long to drive the show, and I would have loved it if the show had ended with that role-reversal.
Absolutely. And in particular with Iris, he sees an old, dried up spinster who never had the chance to leave home, and never thinks that she might be exactly where she wants to be. And *SPOILER* the most fun thing about that scene is knowing that Tommy Dolan is in way, way over his head in trying to manipulate this…
That scene between them is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. I think he was flirting with her not out of genuine attraction but because he sees her as a prim, sheltered, inexperienced Christian woman who could surely be buttered up and made to spill her secrets if only a man shows her a little…
The scene with Samson and the prostitute reminds me that one of the things I really appreciated about this show is that you get to see characters of different ages/size/shape/ability involved in sexual relationships, instead of the usual "only young, slim, beautiful people need apply" deal.
*VAGUE SPOILERS*
One embarrassing question: how do you pronounce the show's name? Does the last syllable have a short A (to rhyme with "pal" or "shall") or an "ah" sound (to rhyme with "pall" or "mall")?
I like that take on her.
I've always had a strange soft-spot for Iris. Her story is never brought to the forefront, so you have to read between the lines a lot to follow her thinking, but hers is a pretty tragic story.
