Thank you. This more along the lines of country music I remember from growing up in the 70s. We had a 45 of Henson Cargill's "Skip A Rope" that I used to play over and over, to the consternation of my mom. Nah, I'd agree that it's saccharine. It whitewashes too much of what being a child is actually like. It's like watching someone with their eyes closed and their ears plugged, going "la la la la". Even as a kid I could see that, and I knew it wasn't a message I could swallow.
