Remember that Joff has already rewritten the sacred rules of the Kingsguard in regards to Selmy.

The Daily Mail (cadk hangs head in shame) did an update about her a couple weeks ago….

The main problem is that she's barely in Clash of Kings, and while D&D tried valiantly, nothing was ever going to make Qarth as interesting as ROASTING SLAVERS ALIVE.

You saw signs of it simmering in the previous few weeks, but you also have to remember that the Night's Watch is now mainly a prison for all the rapists and murderers from the Seven Kingdoms, and getting your assed handed to you (along with wiping out a lot of your leaders) will tend to cause issues in the ranks.

Theon is a masterclass in nurture versus nature. (Plus torture).

You mean wise men with skinny arms.

I'm sure Harry will give him a run if he ever gets on the throne.

The Game of Thrones board game is actually in its second edition. The first edition came out about 10 years ago and garnered very good reviews back then.

The first time I watched this I thought that Rory definitely took after her father. I thought the resemblance was uncanny for television.

I lived in a town in between Detroit and Ann Arbor. Very Stars Hollow, complete with the town square, fountain, and many festivals (scarecrow contests, ice carving contests, art festival, summer concerts, etc, etc, etc.)

I first caught Metric with Monster Hospital, but I love the hell out of Fantasies. That album still holds up. Not as keen with Synthetica, though.

Yeah, that's definitely weird because those cable channels are paying record prices for the television rights to those sports.

@avclub-920530cb8744c679e3a2ece84f1d5ce4:disqus No, back in the day, bowling was a televised sport. ABC aired bowling championships. But bowling was also more popular in general back then. Now the kids have their Nintendos and their iPhones and their soccer games.

You think that's big? Try looking at some US ratings from 40-50 years ago. Some shows had a third to half the entire country tuned in. Insane.

What about bowling on Saturday mornings? God, I hated those bowling tournaments. Cut into prime Saturday Morning Cartoon time (speaking of another TV institution gone bye-bye).

Plus, they got all kind of blinded by greed at the thought of getting a dragon. It's like someone offering you a real T-Rex.

The general thinking is that it's all streamlining. Vargo Hoat isn't a particularly Westerosi name. Having them be the foreign sellsword company that Tywin Lannister hired (and then having them later defect to the North's side) was unnecessarily complicated for non-readers.

They have the infamous bath scene this season; I do wonder how much of his story that they'll use. It's basically the first scene in the books where you realize that Jaime actually has an honor code that's stronger than most.
