The triumphant return of Natalie Morales from "The Middleman!"

I'd argue (in my own opinion) that that's kind of the point. Walt makes these moral concessions rapidly, because he feels he has no choice or no time to decide. And then, when the moment is over, he sees these moral decisions in his rearview.

I'm guessing Tio Hector and the Purloined Necklace will figure somewhere down the line, right? It's an example of emotion bleeding into cold, rational business decisions. That rarely works out for gangsters…

Half Measure?
While I know Mike is the consummate soldier and professional that follows orders - isn't the whole "divide and conquer via grooming Jesse in the organization" plan kind of a half measure? I mean, it's certainly intricate - but it doesn't speak to the root causes of Jesse's problems.

Wine & Chocolates
is a solid song that is deserving of mention.

Seriously though - Well Done.
great article and great work this past weekend. Every other site just regurgitates the news from SDCC, but AV Club is one of the few that actually discusses the event.

This Comic-Con Life
"From AV Club in Chicago, it's This Comic-Con Life, distributed by The Onion. I'm Todd VanDerWerff. Today on our program - what happens when nerds and commerce collide en masse, a look at the biggest confluence of passion and marketing as told in 4 days. In Day 1, "The Many Faces of Comic-Con,"

Dancing Sailor Nightmare Fuel - Challenge Accepted!

(Part 2)
DC comics are more about Iconography and using characters to represent perpetual ideals. The characters do amazing things because they have amazing abilities, abilities which mirror important ideals and beliefs that will always be praised throughout history. It's for this reason that DC has "Legacy" heroes -

(Part 1 - sorry, I'm a nerd who likes to chat about comics and culture…)

I Hate It Yet I'm Uncontrollably Drawn to It
It's kind of relieving to see that everyone else reached a peak of frustration with this episode. I think the problem with "The Killing" (aside from possible unfair expectations that come with being an AMC show) is that everything is in service to the plot.

Is No One Else Getting Killed in Seattle?
Quick question for you smart people: In reality, don't homicide detectives in large metropolitan areas juggle multiple cases (I'm basing this just on common sense and Homicide/The Wire)?

I'm Guessing There Won't Be A Musical Episode…
The tie to the Richmond Campaign isn't just the plumbing contract, it's one of the projects that Richmond talked up in his photo op (remember when he was playing basketball in front of the press?)

Also a member of the Swiss Miss army (gendarmerie?). I think this episode was a let down (weakest of the season so far), but it's still Archer - brilliant and always has at least 1 scene, line and/or running gag that's just great. In this episode, I love Chokebot's intricate hand shake, "Gummy Bears all around!"and

Hey Larry!
We're survivors!

My guess?
Shirley - Lavernica
Britta - Brutalitops (she's a brutal top?)
Annie - Boing Boing the Archer

Zing!

Good point, E. Buzz Miller. Although I don't know if we do "need" lazy shorthands, it is true that there exists a large gulf between audience appreciation and authorial intent. I rescind my complaint. ZMF - it is your battle now.
