Was Human Giant the last good show on MTV?
18 TV shows for President's Day and not one of them is about a single American President. Is AVClub run by a bunch of commies? Love it or leave it, people!
In the early nineties there was this cartoon called Pirates of Dark Water that was kind of like a mix between Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean. It was an early example of an American cartoon trying to use series long story arcs. If I'm remembering it correctly, the heroes had to collect twelve…
Forget Young Justice. What ever happened to those pirates of darkwater?! Also, could Netflix please make one more episode of Family Matters to explain why Judy disappeared and was never mentioned again? The people demand answers!
It was like Macklemore wanted to be praised for his humility. Even if he thought he robbed Lamar, tell him in person, privately or just talk about how much of a fan he is of Lamar's music. By making it so public, it seemed like Macklemore was just begging for the press to shower him with compliments.
I can't wait for the episode where Alfred stumbles across the Teenage Batcave, only to discover that it's where Teenage Batman hides the Victoria's Secret catalogs.
I completely agree with The Walking Dead. What really makes it hard to quit is the fact that it starts streaming on Netflix in October. So it theoretically would be the perfect show to watch in the weeks leading up to Halloween, if only it were actually good.
Stop being lazy Amazon and green light your own tv shows. The rest of us have jobs.
And to think, he got his start playing Cupid on Xena: http://fanzone50.com/KarlUr…
I enjoy this show, but I do wish they had developed the world more. With the exception of a few visual elements cribbed from Blade Runner, the world they live in doesn't feel unique enough. Some of that might have to do with working on a television budget, but I kind of wish they had gone with more of a cyberpunk…
Since Sonia brought up A History of the World in 6 Glasses, I'm going to take issue with that book's chapter on Coke. I think the idea that Coca-Cola has allied itself with America's self image is largely true. However, that book spent an entire chapter giving the Coca-Cola company a big sloppy bj. Hell, judging by…
You do realize that the flip side of this argument is that the Palestinian people then have every right to use violence to regain said territory?
Is this David Geffen?
"You could probably grab a spare minute or two from any episode of
this show and make it look like a reasonably enjoyable action-adventure
TV show. Stretched out to 42 minutes, though, the series has
significantly more issues."
Of all the older action stars who have gotten back into the business lately, I think JCVD has had the most successful come back. He's actually making better films now than he was at the height of his box office popularity.
Damn. I didn't know this theory was so widespread. Either I came up with the idea simultaneously or I may have absorbed it through the cultural ether.
Since Tarantino absolved Roth and Dern, should we just assume it was Madsen? Of course, when something goes wrong, I always assume that Michael Madsen was somehow behind it.
Is it a common theory that Angela Landsbury was secretly the one murdering all those people and then blaming it on others? (Who just coincidentally happens upon all of those murders?) Because I thought I was clever when I came up with that in middle school. If this reading of Murder She Wrote has been around for a…
I don't know if Lynch needs an excuse to be weird. From what I understand, Lynch didn't necessarily want the audience to ever figure out who killed Laura, but public pressure forced their hand. Once they discovered the killer, the series lost its focus, but I agree with Gentileman that it started to coalesce at the…
The film attempts to be a critique, but I don't know if it succeeds. When we finally get to a part of the film where they start to criticize Project Mayhem, when someone dies and all the members of the terrorist cell are revealed to be unthinking yes men, the film whisks us away from this criticism with its twist…
