I normally like music that's has a little more aggression than Bon Iver, but every now and again I try to get into a musician who has quieter sound (variety, spice of life, all that).  I actually quite liked Bon Iver's first album, but, my God, the second album is terrible.  I'm all for trying something new, and he

Talkies were the 3D movies of their day.  They were just a fad.

The show's writing was uneven at times, but goddamnit if the entire production wasn't enjoyable.  The three main cast members had superb chemistry, and it's a shame to see it go out on a cliffhanger (involving incest, no less).  That's just not dignified.

Ah, yes. Very Bad Things may in fact be one of the worst films I've ever seen.  (It's strange how many of these Tarantino knock offs star Christian Slater).  Perhaps the worst part of that movie is when Slater's sociopathic character is shown playing, get this, violent video games.  You see, his lack of empathy can

Eli Roth has one of the worst Boston accents I've heard in a film.  This atrocity is compounded by the fact that he's actually from Boston.

I read a number of the other poems that Yahoo commission, and, in Franco's defense, I actually think that Paul Muldoon's poem might be worse.  And that guy won the Pulitzer.

If you're one of the three people who actually like poetry, the Kevin Young poem they have at Yahoo is actually well done.  Of course, I generally like Kevin Young's stuff, prose and poetry.

The moment in O'Neal's poem about Franco's poem where Franco goes to the Burrito place (where everyone knows his name), is acknowledged in Spanish, and then answers in Spanish was pure entertainment.  I nearly shot liquid out of my nose laughing.  Bravo! BRAVO!!

He probably shouldn't have been so loudly advertising the fact that he's rich.

It's funny.  When I read the title of this piece I thought of the South Park guys and Mike Judge.  While I think both are able to be funny and sometimes insightful, I also think that they can sometimes fall into lame, wishy-washy bipartisanship comedy.

I can't argue with your analysis.  It's pretty accurate.  I think part of the problem here in the states is that Republicans have drifted so far right that even a president who is barely left of center (and arguably right of center on foreign policy) gets called a communist.

I hope Winterbottom isn't losing it.  He was an incredibly promising director for a time, and although I know he has put out a few good films in the last few years, I've also heard that a lot of his recent material ranges from mediocre to bad.

Fringe, you will be missed.  I think what really kept this series going was the fact that the writers really cared about their characters.  It was sad to see them go.

I knew that joke sounded familiar.  I just couldn't remember exactly when Oscar had previously commented on the hardwood floors.

Worst part of the episode was definitely seeing the gang hopped up on caffeine.  Caffeine can energize you and make you feel a little off kilter, but I didn't know it had the capacity to reduce your mental capacities to that of a kindergartener.  This might be my least favorite episode of the season (and I've been

If it's all right to put forth one of his Hollywood films, then I might go ahead and nominate Scarlet Street, one of the most depressing Film Noirs of all times.  But from his days in Germany, I might go ahead and say M.

The James Frey evisceration on Oprah is a pretty good comparison.  But while Jon Stewart gets aggressive in his interviews now and again, I did not think Oprah was going to be so unforgiving.  I would not cross that woman.

I'm making my way through season 1 and Damian Lewis is quickly becoming the only reason to watch the show.  Maybe I had heard too much hype before watching, but it isn't nearly as revolutionary as people were claiming for a while (although season 2 has apparently dampened some of the enthusiasm).

And if I remember correctly, Jim Cramer bitched about it for months afterwards.  A lot of people lost a lot of money following his recommendations.  How could he not see Jon Stewart's criticism coming a mile away?

I'm confused.  A whole bag of dicks, or just the bag?  Because if it's just the bag, you're actually letting him off easy.
