I'm going to totally quote this.  And I'll leave in the Gamma Quadrant stuff just to see what happens.

If I'm not mistaken, next season begins with a three parter.  Any chance we could get a triple header, instead of the usual two (or am I being too greedy here)?

Early Fincher is completely overrated on the nets.  With the exception of Seven (or is it Se7en?), he didn't really hit his stride until later in his career with Zodiac (which is, of course, his masterpiece).

I'm of the mind that hip hop has improved in part because the album has died.  As the article points out, there was a ton of filler on those older albums, and it wasn't just the skits.  I appreciate the bargain mentality as much as anyone, but you need to have a good batting average.  Hip hop works best in a world of

I agree.  The Northern Exposure episode is better.  I also managed to look it up, and it's title is "Crime and Punishment."  It aired one year before "Dax."  And the really crazy thing is that the actress Anne Haney plays the judge in both DS9 and Northern Exposure.  I wonder if the makers of DS9 realized they were

Anyone notice that "Dax" is a complete recreation of a Northern Exposure episode?  I think the judge in both episodes is played by the same actress, if I'm not mistaken.

I absolutely agree.  Arguably the film is flawed in its execution, but it is not inaccurate in its portrayal.  To suggest that the film is a piece of propaganda stinks of the sort of lazy he said, she said journalism we see today.  It would be unacceptable for a review of Schindler's List to include a caveat about how

I think this article doesn't take into account the long tale theory and how much music sales have dropped in the last decade or so.  The reason these older rock musicians still have some cultural capital is because they have sold more albums than any newer artist ever will.  Music purchases have fallen off so much

If this were a Seth MacFarlane show, he would have.

This article is kind of idiotic.

The Politics of Community
I've found the comment regarding Harmon's liberal politics pretty interesting so far. In his discussion of "Mixology," he states that he's not "Trey Parker," meaning he doesn't want to push his politics onto his audience. But then Harmon suggests that Harmon's libertarian views are middle

Just go read Scott and Dargis's article. It's a lot more insightful and seems like it actually knows what it's talking about.

Maybe it's because I've seen the last two Next Generation films and I know how bad these movies can get, but I think Generations did a few things right. There were some enjoyable nods to the fans of the series (like the Klingon sisters and the emotion chip), and I agree that Malcolm McDowell did a lot with what

Portman's at the mercy of her director.
I've always thought that a good director could elicit a fine performance from Portman, but given a director who isn't good with actors (like Geoge Lucas) and you get an absolute mess. This isn't really a knock against her since most actors need some support.

Whoops. Oh well, same difference.

I never liked this guy.
I remember when it used to be cool to listen to his sex radio show with Dr. Drew back in middle schools, but since then I've just found him annoying.
