yes—well said. i agree with kathryn's general point that suffering is not the only way to build character and in fact i think thats kind of a dangerous idea ("better not think critically about my cancer treatment options because i have to THINK POSITIVE and slap a colored ribbon on my car!") but i also agree w regina…

I actually totally agree with Kathryn that there are other ways to build character, and one of my least favorite ideas is that somehow suffering makes you more insightful and all of that. She doesnt bother me nearly as much as John does. He's just an asshole. And a Republican.

that would be fantastic…and also would allow for more Gillian Anderson on my television. well, computer. Although I think I read that she didn't want to do too much of this show because it's so disturbing.

i've always thought that they had an understanding. there are a lot of ways in which they seem to genuinely like and respect each other.

ehhh, i mean i definitely have pretty major depression that i've been hospitalized for and its certainly possible that some of those "exhaustion" hospitalizations are for depression…but a lot are probably also for drug addiction.
