@avclub-bca3531762af8a993c4f60c48fd5e33b:disqus , ooh, sorry, no.  They actually called him "The Moop".

Best marriage of avatar icon and comment ever? I vote yes.

Not sure how to say this without sounding like a dick, but: making fun of yourself to make friends ain't exactly the best strategy for getting laid.

"I was like, ‘Oh man, not only are you cutting off a life, but a message to the world, a musical path is just left with … [Hole] and all this other stuff. "

Fuck the covers.  I wanna know how a white guy with dreads has consistently landed some of the foxiest ladies of popular culture in the last 20 years.

Is it at all weird that Dre is behind this, when Tupac's last album when alive (Makaveli) had a number of Dre disses?  'pac seemed to fucking HATE Dre when he died….

Summerteeth probably rocks harder.

It's probably my least favorite.  Not bad per se, just not for me.  What I like most about Wilco (the inventiveness, the willingness to play with structures, and the awesome hooks) seems to be in shortest supply on that album.

Or it might be your use of emoticons.

Didn't say he was just a drummer for hire.  I'm sure he was involved in the writing, but his main musical contribution to the Dead Weather was drummer; he sang on a couple songs, but he's not the lead vocalist (like he is in the White Stripes and Raconteurs), and he's not the lead guitarist (like in those other two

My guess is more Raconeteurs than Dead Weather.  He only played drums on the DW stuff.

"Cabin in the Woods" in a well-populated city!

She is now a Scientologist and dating Nick Swisher of the Yankees, actually.

The Alamo in Austin used to do screenings like this all the time when I lived there.  I remember Jaws on Lake Austin, Goonies in a cave, and the Big Lebowski in a bowling alley.  I imagine there were others, as well.

Thanks, sarCCastro.  Hey, random question: how do you do that thing where you put the person's name in a box?

I actually saw them just two nights ago.  I can indeed confirm that Garbage STILL > A lot of bands.

Not to defend Puffy (ugh), but the whole title Life After Death was announced long before Biggie died.  It also ties thematically into the whole album, along with being a continuation and refutation of his debut, Ready to Die.

One has overzealous fans whose enthusiasm and rabid devotion to the work turns off other, more casual viewers; the other is UHF.

I remember that too, weirdly.  But c'mon, there's no way a movie like UHF is going to get a great review.  Doesn't make it any less awesome.

Wait till you hear him on Get the Led out.  He really shines there.
