Only most of the players can't use their hands.  A select 10% or so are allowed to use their hands.  They also dress differently than the lowly outfield players.  Sounds like capitalism to me.

Does it work the other way too?  Are movies based on tv shows generally always worse than the tv shows?  Off the top of my head, I would say that the original Star Trek movies are better than the tv show, however I never watched the original tv show and am discounting Star Trek 1 so maybe I'm talking out of my ass.
