I love that photo. Classic pre-photoshop slash headless singer antics there.

I seriously wondered if he was having a seizure (or Lambert-possession) during the middle of that song. That's one of the songs that needs to be banned from ever appearing on this show again. Enough.

yeah
Was shocked that no one was horrible. That said, I sent a pity vote to Tim and earned votes to Casey and Paul. Hope that America has room in its SMSing hearts for a few of the quirktestants.

I think if you watch it again you'll be surprised at how much music there is in the film. There's a lot of silence, yes, but the music that she uses is very effective. The Foo Fighters pole dance and the pared down Strokes sunbathing are just perfection.

someone needs to sneak into his room at night and eliminate that mullet, possibly the source of all of his singing powers or the only thing keeping him from a complete on stage breakdown.

it has to be at least somewhat meaningful that Jacob only left behind a little satchel of WHITE ash behind after the stabby firetimes and soon appeared Obi Wan like. I'd say that he didn't die entirely powerless.

Aren't Vincent, Rose, and Bernard time-hopping with the rest of the leftbehnds?

Didn't little blondie say you "can't kill him" without specifying who can't be killed? Since this happened after SmokeyLocke's meetup with Sawyer (not Richard), I assumed that the kid was talking about Sawyer (or candidates in general maybe).

riggins, caretaker
If you go back and watch the first episode it's astonishing how much of the Tim's story arc is laid out in that bonfire conversation. From his being a caretaker at heart to the dream of owning a piece of Texas forever, it — and so much of the show — is really laid out from the beginning. It's all

not only was it a clip show, it was a clip show with a super lame plot device. was there no way of doing this but through the eyes of toby?

me, too. I don't know how it happened that I became a person that not only watched but also voted for American Idol. Send help.

judge slang
Last week the judges likened adam to a theatrical cow, last night it was "nobody was going to top Adam tonight".

boo america
I really wish the judges had saved their save for Allison. She's really the only one of them whose album I could even imagine considering buying.

I'm sad about Danie, but aside from Vincent, I think that Desmond and Penny are the only ones that NEED to survive for me to be satisfied. (Although maybe they turn out to be the Adam and Eve skeletons, which would at least be romantic and tragic enough to be fulfilling in some depressing way).

improbable, but awesome
It's hard to imagine a better season (or season) ender than this episode. The Seracen—Riggins—Seracen pass in the second half has to be the best-earned point in the show's history.

caw! caw!
for a few minutes there I was crushed that I missed Megan's flight to the loser bench while flipping between Idol and LOST. Thankfully, some youtube tapers preserved it for digital eternity (or until FOX makes them remove it)

magic hour
I swear that the Kooks must have been stalling for drippingly perfect magic hour pre-sunset lighting. They look like glowing guitar gods in just about every picture I took of them.
