It's a T… for "time to leave."

THAT NIELL DEGRAHSH TYSON THINKS HE'S SO FAHKIN' WICKED SMAHT

That's what the Pabst's reference was for. Anyway, drinking during the week is just so mainstream, you know?

Nope, 'Hilluhpines. (It doesn't really work the way 'Murica does, I know.)

I think "outrage" would be a bit strong; what I tended to see was the same smug hipster reactions that take place anytime fast food is mentioned, only amplified. Because the same people who down a case of Pabst's every weekend like to criticize your unhealthy eating habits.

He said, sarcastically, that he couldn't believe Eastwood would make a racially insensitive movie. Do I need to draw a disagram?

I was responding to JesusTralfaz. I don't think the fact that they're "brown" matters, when they have a religion and customs that was so alien to people back in the day. Also, I am impervious to your white guilt, so that helps.

"Hajjis" actually isn't racist; it refers to anyone who takes the hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). Shit, George Clooney's Three Kings had more slurs than this movie. That's the first time I ever heard "sand n*gger".

Rednecks invading Poland and throwing people in concentration camps? Wow, I didn't know they were that organized.

Thanks, Obama.

That's really not the case. There's some Mulims fighting, because, you know, it's historically accurate that we did fight Muslims over there, but nothing really over-the-top in the "savage" account, with the possible exception of a terrorist ringleader called "the Butcher" who executes people - American and Iraqi

He died on the way back to his home planet.

I have to disagree; I thought the whole scene with the family who's kid was killed by the Butcher was very tragic and humanizing.

I always thought they were doing that as a hilarious "Fuck you" to Springsteen, a la Scott Walker and the Dropkick Murphys.

…And? I won't bother pointing out the obvious distinction between races and religions - even ones that are mostly ethnically homogenous. "Racist" has a very specific meaning. If you're going to say "X is racist", you need to back that up. I've seen the film, and I wouldn't say it was outstanding, but there was nothing

You can argue that the movie is Islamaphobic - although being one of only five commenters here who actually saw it, I wouldn't even say it's that - but there was certainly nothing in the movie to suggest racism. If you'd like to point out a critical racist scene that I missed, let me know.

Exactly. I didn't know idiots needed an "excuse" to do / hate anything. This sort of alarmism is right up there with, "Video games cause kids to shoot up schools."

Muslims are a race now? Good, that clears up a lot of confusion.

I love Dan, but he's way, way too into weed, and I feel that he promotes it too often as a "solution" to anxiety. Everyone reacts to weed differently, and there's plenty of people who get more anxious/tense if they use it. Also, I would think part of the whole "advice columnist" thing would be "Check to see if it's

I tried deer meat (venison, I guess?) for the first time at my cousin's BBQ. It was okay, but the pulled pork was amazing.
