That he wasted a fortune on the Stargate machine.

This totally would have been a Matthau vehicle, wouldn't it?

I did too. It was an okay performance but something definitely was amiss.

For me, Entwistle brought a sting to the band's sound that never wavered after Keith's death and brought legitimacy to even their 1989 tour where they had a large band behind them. It's also why they probably never sounded better than in 1999 up until his death, when it was just a 5-piece again because Zak brought so

I'm big Who fan, so this news is somewhat bittersweet. They lost quite a lot when Entwistle passed away and from what I've been seeing and hearing they slowly gained some of it back. The recent live album of Quadrophenia sounds great.

He is the Dorian Grey of rock and roll, as an article I read a long time ago stated. I think the reason for retirement has much more to do with Pete's hearing issues creeping up on him again which at his age could be more damaging now.

As I say so often, you are a great American Jake The Snake.

Yeah, but it wasn't their breakout hit. Their previous 3 albums sold in huge numbers and were pretty much in-demand around the world.

And NBC

I really hate saying this, but some of his solo stuff is way too folksy for my taste. That said I really liked Sailing to Philadelphia.

I'm a Malick fanatic, but she was far and away the best thing about Tree of Life for me.

I don't get it either. Pink Floyd would be a better comparison I think. Zeppelin were pretty big right from the beginning.

Brothers in Arms would definitely be 2nd on my list. And actually I'd put their debut in at third, it's a pretty solid start. Then Making Movies. I'll agree some of On Every Street sounds pretty bloated.

I LOVE "Telegraph Road", and I think Love Over Gold is Dire Straits' best album.

The awful thing about your first paragraph is, is that it's only shows like this that attempt to pull it off. I read someone saying that the perfect model to base a show using BDSM relationships on is the Keith/David one from Six Feet Under. Not sure I'd agree with that exactly but it's a better example than what the

Is McCarthy's head in a box not too far behind?

Give the upvote to my friend, he's way more familiar with his stuff than I am apart from seeing an interesting documentary on him once.

I think being stuck in an elevator with Cusack's character from that movie would be my 2nd choice.

We still get a steady stream of national acts so it's not all depressing, but there is quite a bit of that around. It was even worse in my old hometown, where my best friend (who's a semi-professional musician, plays gigs all over town here) had to deal with that. He likes doing covers, but he'd much rather play

Cover bands. They all mean well in some way or another, but if it's of a band that I love I nitpick throughout the whole show. I saw a showcase of 5 of them earlier this year. The acts did The Allman Brothers Band, Velvet Underground/Lou Reed, Van Halen, David Bowie and AC/DC. The two decent moments all night were
