Nothing I hate more than the dunderheaded "rock and roll, man" attitude of some bands and musicians today (though I respect Grohl and the Foos). I'd much rather see a band experiment and fail, rather than be successful by putting out the same sort of songs over and over again.

I don't say this lightly, but I think this is the best show on TV right now.

I like the song, too. It's admirable that they wanted to go in a different direction, and there are some pretty solid songs on Pop but it's not what people wanted out of them, if anything at all really.

Watch Marilu Henner win every single one.

I actually remember seeing bits of it on cable, before Bill Cosby bought the rights so it could never be shown again.

That was near-Robocop excessive.

I'd say more brillo pad.

The family's treatment of Jimi's legacy ("let's release everything") I'm luke-warm on, but upon this point I can see where they are coming from. The doc that aired on PBS last year was great, but just as a documentary. I don't know if a dramatized version of it, approved by the Hendrix family, would have as much legs.

I don't really see where the appeal in films like this are, except maybe for classic rock stations to play Hendrix marathons once it comes out, but it's not like the major studios are interested either. You've had people walking out of the Freddie Mercury bio-pic because Brian May and Roger Taylor want it just to be

Noomi does bare a pretty striking resemblance to Etchingham though.

Lost it on the stock market, after the projections for WWE Network weren't up to his initial predictions and signing a TV deal with Universal for less than what he was asking.

Not sure if pro wrestling stuff belongs here, but it's worth noting that Friday Vince McMahon last 357 million dollars personally. Not last week, or within the last month. Friday.

Did any of the adults ever get the significance of the two-fingers thing? I may or may not be on the minority on this one, but thank God for Anglophile friends in High School.

Even better than that is "Orchestra Night", the soundtrack of a PPV special he did with Michael Kamen conducting a full orchestra behind him playing a pretty good set of material.

Agreed, and not even a big fan of them at all. Plus, I really liked that Aerosmith clip.

I heard it wasn't the filmmakers intent to shoot in 3D so obviously it was done in post, so probably not.

And Pete Townshend.

In a liquor store? If it was a salon I'd understand but that's kind of weird.

Yes! Hearing him pound the shit out of that 12-string was something to behold.

For some reason MTV has it listed as an "Unplugged" but about half of the special was electric, and I think it was more than one hour.
