It's not in cancellation territory, but it's heading in the direction still. It's number now is solely the result of the excitement people attached to the Avengers and Whedon, rather than actually being drawn to the show by the show. The show is actually repelling the people who showed up to the party.

It's only seven minutes? Damn.

I just don't see it trying to do any of those things. And even if it is, it's being boring while doing it. More important than my opinion, however, is that the show shed viewers like stones. If it were just me, that's one thing, but millions and millions of people are turning of the show each week and not turning it

Yeah, arcs have to actually play out during an episode too. All setup and no payoff is bad storytelling, and especially so for a show that is right now all procedural with very little serialization. You reasoning may make sense to you, but everything you say is actually an indictment of the storytelling. It's all

The problem with every excuse I hear is it falls apart upon examination. Yes, the shows you mention were hampered by a network mandate, and yet every single on of them was better than SHIELD is right now. Every single one was either somewhat or much better from the gate. Even POI, which had an absolutely terrible

Nope. It wasn't high art, but it sure as shit was better than SHIELD. It may have only taken me four or five episodes to realize that DH was not a very good show, but at no time was it every as boring as this show.

Another two-tenths drop last night takes the ratings down to a 2.6 in the demo. I had thought maybe last week stabilized it, but apparently not. And last night isn't likely to convince many fence sitters. We can only hope there is serious triage going on as we speak, with perhaps Whedon becoming more actively

Yeah, but that's only because a broadcast network didn't make Hannibal. Hannibal was an independent production financed largely with foreign money (I want to say German, but I can't remember). All NBC did was pick it up, and then they made little suggestions here and there during the ongoing production but, from what

I cannot believe it only took a month before this show started stacking up on my DVR. There are two of them staring at me now, and I just cannot work up the interest. There really isn't anything that a broadcast network can't screw up beyond measure, is there?

She and I have our moments, but I just don't think she listens to me when I speak.

Anything that gets Jonathan Banks bank on screen as Mike is worth it. To me, the guy was the funniest thing in the whole series. He made me laugh with almost every resigned sigh and angry line reading. The saddest moment of the series for me was when he got taken out so long before the end. I actually grabbed my head

Yeah, this article really smacks of someone wanting to lord over how they were into BB way before other people. Hey, we get it, you're a genius. But some of us just didn't check it out right away. Its not like I didn't like it until you talked me into it. It's just that I was busy and didn't even start the damn series

I'll be overjoyed to see some Breaking Bad costumes this Halloween. You overestimate the way online excitement translates into real world people. If you live in middle America, you don't know a whole hell of a lot of people who actually watch Breaking Bad. Or at least I don't. If someone shows up in the hazmat suit

See, the problem there is that a show like this does not usually get better on a smaller budget. And then that can lead to further ratings drop, and then further budget cuts, and then turtles all the way down.

So, we may be misreading this. Is the first line ending in "rap" or "fap"?

Well, the ratings free fall at least has slowed a bit. It lost another 7% last night, which was its smallest decline yet. That took it down to a 2.7, and that's a sustainable number, albeit not remotely what Disney was looking for when they greenlit a project that has a budget allowing them to shoot in Sweden. And as

They will not.

Actually, not that complex. DVR numbers count not at all.  Zero.  Unless you watch the commercials, anything you read about are fantasy numbers.  C3 are the only numbers that matter, and those can be very hard to come by.  Suffice it to say, the number of DVR viewers who watch the commercials is pretty small.

This is so shortsighted and self destructive as to recall The Guns of August. It's guys like Katzenberg who will hasten old media's decline, even while staring possible salvation directly in the face.  Thank goodness his kind will go the way of the dodo eventually.

That's pretty much who populate the league now.
