And a more beautiful and talented woman is hard to find.

You sure you don't mean Martin Gottfried's biography?
Yeah, dying in DC during the opening of his revival of Sweet Charity three years later really put a crimp in his movie directing.
What is truly amazing is that Scheider, by everyone's admission, is neither a singer nor a dancer (especially not a dancer). But if you didn't know that already, then you wouldn't get that impression from seeing this movie, even tho he barely does either in the picture.
But this is a biopic. To make another today would just be weak sauce.
No doubt. Some of the finest cinematography I've ever seen in my life was in Skyfall. The movie was mediocre, but the work Deakins did there was mesmerizing. At least he was nominated, but I think it wasn't just deserving of a win, it was maybe deserving of the last ten Oscars.
I think Fosse is one of the all time greats at both, but there are a ton of people who match this description. Theater/film crossover directors of note are not rare.
Yeah, I'm with Heating Element. Sounds like a pretty good way to go. Not going to move out of my parents' basement just to die.
I mean, to dance is to steal. Fosse himself would agree with that, if he weren't dead in the ground, that is.
Top Ten lists are personal for everyone, but it's on mine. And even being as objective as I can, I think it's one of the greatest movies of all time. Top Ten, Top Hundred, Top Whatever. It's in there somewhere. And it's an amazing representation of a certain time and place in Broadway history (which I managed to get…
"My dick is this big."
Portrait of an artist as a total bastard is pretty reductive, but whatever. As for there not being that much singing and dancing, there are at least eight major production numbers, including the opening and closing ten minutes of the movie. At one point there is an entire section of the movie that is three straight…
Wow. This guy is really jealous of Don Henley.
If the internet wants to attack anything, it should attack the idiots who are still surprised anew every time the internet attacks. Start with the knuckleheads who were shocked when five racist tweets appeared after the Miss America pageant.
So, you are saying she will sleep with herself?
A little surprised there was no mention of Deadwood's profanity as poetry (although I suppose "cocksucker" was the word that really stuck out there), but I'm shocked that no one brought up the car rental scene from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
Pitch Black was just on TV, and it works for me every time I see it. It's tight, well scripted, and it plays the ten little indians game for all it is worth. There is just enough going on in Diesel's breakout performance to see what all the hullabaloo was about when he first came on the scene, and he plays well off…
You should really listen to Wilford read the unabridged version of The History of the Quaker Oats Company.
To be fair, date rape was a thing prior to 1988. It was just that people thought it was a funny thing.
Should this not star Conrad Dunn?
