I've taken a road trip every year for my vacation, and usually stay at chain motels for the consistency and the customer-loyalty discounts. They almost always have Fox "News" (kudos for "News-Flavored Product") playing in the breakfast room.

Funny you should say that, there's a meme going around, with The Most Interesting Man In The World saying:
"I don't always watch Fox News. But when I do, it's on The Daily Show."
Needless to say, I LIked and Shared.

Sad to see so few Reasonable Discussions here, but happy with the quality. Others have said below much of what was spinning in my mind during the episode and in the afterglow.

I suspect Tiberius is meant to grow out of it. His dad's certainly doing his best to see it so.

I just watched this, and before I read the review and the comments and have my judgment clouded, I just want to say, that was fucking awesome.
I am so looking forward to this season.
More later.

Except Natural Born Killers aspired to be a satirical commentary on that phenomenon - made painfully explicit by the "channel-checking" montage at the end.

Ye gods, the way he delivered that line was eeeeew!

I liked her in Sin City.

Also please note, the people of Afghanistan did not make war against the USA. A small criminal outfit (who we helped to create) did. The argument that those criminals were being sheltered by the Taliban government (who we were paying off up to August 2001) does not justify occupying the entire country for over a

I think there's a clue at the beginning of the NYT article: They're talking about the CIA's drones. It may well be that the military drone operators do exactly as  drunksailor relates, but the CIA operates under a very different set of rules.

If it weren't for the two-party duopoly (mathematically generated by first-past-the-post, winner-take-all legislative districts), the anarcho-capitalists and the religious fundies, twin pillars of the GOP activist base, would fly apart at near-light speed from mutual repulsion, leaving nothing but their Wall

Prolapse?

Proposition 13.
Guess who was Governor then…

The only parts of California that didn't have rolling blackouts during the Enron-created crisis were those that had publicly-owned power utilities. Until, that is, they were ordered to institute them.

It's my head!

"… since most mass shooters end up turning their guns on themselves."
Usually only when "good guys" with guns show up. Almost always in uniform. Sometimes not (e.g., Clackamas OR).

I saw it when it showed up on premium cable. I was channel-checking and there was nothing else on I really wanted to watch. I saw that Mary Louise-Parker was in it, and I wanted to look at her eyes.

If I'm still paying for premium cable when this shows up there, I'll probably stop at this if I'm channel-checking and nothing else I want to watch is on. Because I really love Mary-Louise Parker's eyes.
