Oh, Alligator is amazing, and Boxer and High Violet are even better. But Sad Songs and the Cherry Tree EP are definitely worthwhile (though alt-country or whatever)

Cardinal Song is a favorite of mine too. In fact the whole album is really solid, a major step up from their debut.
