I think that's absolutely intentional.

Thank you. If you take issue with the very premise of the show (teenage werewolves), you're going to hate it and cannot review it objectively. But if you accept the premise and are willing to evaluate the show on its own merits… it's actually pretty fantastic and is not deserving of the cynical mockery this site…

This is a solid A episode. A stunning hour of television. Perfectly structured, perfect blend of humor and action, and fantastically filmed opening and ending acts. I'm done with these reviews. Cynical snark is not always necessary.

I thought the end was really weird. It's like it went ten seconds too long; generally it would've ended with Eric retracting his fangs and slam-cutting to the credits, but instead, we got that weird musical overture of Bill looking on sadly? triumphantly? aroused-ly? as Eric was led away.

The website looked super basic. Surely they could've thrown something up before the episode aired!

Pam's outfits are a delight each week. Although I was sad that the crimping came back, it wasn't nearly as tragic as a few episodes ago.

Well, Russell and Sam didn't converge yet, but it's on its way. I enjoyed Russell and Steve showing up at our old wolfy friends' place, though.

@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus That scene where she was yelling at Sookie and Bud was VERY Kathy Bates in Misery. I thought the same thing. Loved it.

@avclub-858b67085072a6f2403cf500871f4068:disqus I've thought that about Ginny since the first episode! I want them to snatch her up for the new season of Smash playing Ivy's younger sister, or past self, or surprise!daughter, or something.

It doesn't suck at all. It's one of the most quotable movies of all time, and deservedly so.

I was kind of hoping for a Teen Wolf (film) callback when Mama McCall saw him… like in the original movie when Michael J Fox sheepishly opens the bathroom door covered in all the fur, and his father sighs in relief and changes into a wolf as well and says something like "When were you going to tell me?"
