With skipping this episode, you miss a great scene towards the end where they acknowledge that something strange is going on. I think you need to watch the more poorly done episodes in order for the amazing ones to feel as such.

I had an idea for a parody once, with a show like this, or any WB/CW series really, where there's the typical romance triangle, then in the series finale, the angst gets to such a fever pitch that little robots dispense from the male characters crotches and start battling it out.

I agree with skipping the pilot because it's very much self contained, but I extremely disagree with the skipping of the first 5 or so episodes. The 4th and 5th are inextricably linked. So if there was a 6th season, it still would have been the 5th one we got.
