Yeah, I remembered the comment discussion about where it precisely was located but couldn't bother to look it up so I went with the cultural reference over accuracy.

I know it has to do with January Jones more than him, but Christopher Stanley was upped to main cast for this season, and I'd be surprised if he had two dozen lines and five minutes of screen time. Kinda funny/strange to me. I would have actually been interested in how he interacts with Sally independent of Betty.

Pete is obviously of the Rockefeller Republican mold (as are virtually all the characters in Mad Men, except Ginsberg, Stan, and maybe Peggy, who as a Catholic from Brooklyn is probably a Democrat [she has a portrait of JFK on her apartment wall]).

While Lane technically only invested $50k, he gave up a lot more to keep it running. He nearly torched his marriage by living in two different countries. He also had to liquidate his stock portfolio, subjecting those assets to taxes that eventually led to his downfall. I also think the "more than $50,000" comment…

I think it was intentional that both the blonde and the brunette look vaguely similar to Megan's friend and Megan, respectively.

Not at all. Lane didn't leave his life insurance policy to anyone. It's a company life insurance policy. It pays to the company. This is what Howard Dawes told Pete back in Lady Lazarus. The company got $175k for Lane's death, and they're paying back the $50k that Lane directly invested when they started up. The…

Another thing about Don and Pete, at the end: "I'm going to have the same view as you, Don." He's getting an apartment in the city now and thinks he's getting that much closer to what he believes Don is (or was, or I guess might be again).

Well, it may depend on how they handle the responsibilities. Does Joan get promoted to CFO? That would be utterly unprecedented in 1967. Mind-bogglingly so. But it would be fascinating.

Seems like Paul is just confusing the structure. It's one season split into two halves, not two different seasons. Season 6, aka the last eight episodes of season 5, airs next year and they haven't started filming that.

Oh, the most surprising part of this episode has to be hard evidence that Bert Cooper does actually occasionally do something for the company.
