I don't think she is though. I think Mindy is meant to be semi-likeable and flawed - you think she's pretty cool one moment, but you're cringing at her behaviour the next - that way you can be invested in her need to change.

Too much stuff going on seems to be a sweet problem to have if you have competent writers who can streamline the whole thing eventually - considering the names in the writers' room it shouldn't really be a problem.

I love this show but I can't get past Zooey's glasses without lenses, especially when the other actors are right there next to her, wearing normal glasses. I know they probably do it to avoid weird reflections in the lenses but why do it only with her then? Is she supposed to be the kind of idiot who wears fake…

Watching these guys again after a couple of months made me realise how awesome they all really were. Just looking at their silent facial expressions when Jess tells them not to pity her made me laugh out loud.
I admit I wasn't 100% on board with Johnson at first but now he's my favourite as well. Let's just hope…

Nick's leaps and Winston holding the tiny cocktail umbrella were the best.
Also, whoever did that "mixed-materials collage" portrait of the guys hit the perfect note between "pretty accurate" and "horribly creepy". I had to hit pause and then just stare at it for a while.

@avclub-01e8318c286a584caffbb596a95652d2:disqus Yes, but what does that have to do with cinematography? Cinematography = lighting + framing + color + camera movement, nothing to do with recreation of historical facts.

I liked the pilot but can't read the show's title without thinking of that Ed-Hardy-wearing dude and that hedgehog-haired lady. And I never even saw their show.

The fact that Peter Jackson snatched the rights for The Lovely Bones from Lynne Ramsay continues to upset me to this day. Her version would've been awesome.

I imagine he just hit a "reset" button in his brain or something. My favorite of his films is Elephant (which he made right after Gerry), but yeah, Gerry is pretty great.
