The Fosters thread!
The Fosters thread!
Well, I did say "reclaim her independence." Technically.
Damn. That is impressive. I'm kind of proud of myself.
She was on The Young and the Restless, which I've watched since I was in elementary school.
It's not her big break. She's been in a number of things, particularly big in the daytime soap world. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm…
I'm actually not sure where it comes from/where it started, but it's been commonly used to describe a character's control over their own actions for a while now. Usually female.
I think a character's agency is a valid thing to discuss. Why do so many people have a problem with the word "agency"? Is it because it is normally used in regards to female characters?
Heh, yeah, I probably should have picked up on that one.
Thanks, fixed. I have Daniel/David transposition issues (I do it in Revenge reviews all the damn time).
My main problem with this proposed arc is that I find Henry Wilcox (and Gregory Itzin) completey bland and toothless. Covert Affairs has never been great at telling these types of stories so I fear it's just going to become a mess.
Bunheads, Bunheads, Bunheads, Bunheads!
The undocumented storyline was TERRIBLE. I really enjoy this show and respect its commitment to focusing on actual, tangible issues, but throwing an immigration storyline on top of a teenage sex storyline on top of a foster kid storyline on top of a rape storyline was just too much, too soon.
I really, really enjoyed Blair Redford on The Lying Game (and thought he had great chemistry with Alexandra Chando), but his character here is going for reserved and kind of accidentally ending up bland.
Ugh, Marnie.
Weirdly, 4 kind of leads into 6 and 5 is just a fun little heist movie stuck in the middle. Almost all of the plotting from 6 comes from events that happened in 4.
JOHNNY BACKPACK
Yes! I like Derrick quite a bit, as well as Sarah and Chet.
So for some reason I watched about eight seasons of this in the past two weeks, when I was only planning to watch one. The show was immediately engaging and, embarassingly, my viewing snowballed into an actual addiction. It's like a real soap opera where people might actually die someday because no one seems to…
The fact that this doesn't exist anywhere on streaming or DVD is a CRIME. A CRIME, I SAY.
AMAZING.
